The Bridgeport-based Center for Family Justice (CFJ) nominated the quartet, who were recognized at the 7th annual First 100 Plus Breakfast held recently in Hartford.
The Fairfield County honorees were Trumbull residents Anthony Iannini and Matthew Reale, both members of the CFJ’s Board of Directors; Stratford Police Chief Joseph McNeil; and Bridgeport Police Chief Armando Perez.
Debra Greenwood, CFJ’s president & CEO, said she was thrilled to see these dedicated men honored for their work on behalf of CFJ and the thousands of clients it serves each year.
“Each of these individuals (has) been a strong, dynamic partner to our mission; providing us with their time, expertise and unwavering support,” she said. “We cannot do this work alone and consider each one a vital community leader in our constant efforts to break the cycle of domestic violence.”
Iannini, who works for Norwalk-based GE Capital, is a member of CFJ’s Board Governance Committee and lends his professional expertise to help guide the agency. He is also an active supporter of Camp HOPE Connecticut, the first trauma-informed camp and mentoring program for children impacted by domestic and sexual violence.
Reale, an attorney in private practice in Shelton, has helped lead many of CFJ’s key fundraising initiatives including its annual golf classic. He has also lent his professional expertise to training and mentoring attorneys working at CFJ’s Justice Legal Center, the first legal incubator program in Connecticut.
Perez and McNeil are outspoken advocates for victims of domestic violence. They each support CFJ at the annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month vigils in Bridgeport and Stratford. They also assign officers to provide direct assistance to CFJ’s clients and advocacy team on a weekly basis.
